January features the Songwriters Festival from the 17th to the 19th and this year will be better than ever. This is the fifth annual 30A Songwriters Festival and the stage will features over 200 performances at 25 venues. With 150 songwriters coming to the area to perform, this is one of the hottest music events of the year.
Performances will be found throughout the South Walton area in:

- Rosemary Beach

Many of the performances will happen on the beach or near the beach overlooking the beautiful turquoise waters.
Performers and Songwriters
Many performances will happen throughout the event. On Saturday, the Gulf Place Amphitheater will feature:
- Richard Thompson
- Ani DeFranco
- Loudon Wainwright III
On Sunday, the Gulf Place stage will feature:
- Robert Randolph and the Family Band
- The Glenn Phillips Band
- Tinsley Ellis
Other performances include:
- Kristian Bush headlining with Ellis Paul
- John Oates with Jim Lauderdale and Jesse Harris
- Rusty Young with Craig Fuller
- Marshall Crenshaw

Some of the talent has won huge awards, such as Jesse Harris. He won a GRAMMY for writing "Don't Know Why," the Nora Jones hit. He will debut as a performer at the festival.
This event is known as the place for songwriters to perform their own music. Many write their own songs and bring them to the festival, along with the powerful vocals they may provide or from the performer.
A three-day pass is $170 for the event. This is an early bird price and will get more expensive the closer the event gets. Single day tickets may be available, as well.
