George’s at Alys Beach has decided to add some excellent additions to their menu. Located on Scenic Highway 30A in a charming Florida cottage, George’s is open Monday through Saturday for lunch and dinner.
Their new menu has added items like Fried Oyster BLT Salad, Pork Belly Lollipops and Smoked Pineapple Cornbread Cake. Chef Darek Tidwell has added new plates such as these to offer a cuisine like no other. Here is a look at what you can expect from the new menu at George’s.
You can now enjoy new flavors that are supposed to be inspired by his life’s special moments. You’ll find new iconic coffee and beignets from New Orleans plus flavors from his work with his Michelin-Starred mentor Jose Sanchez.
Chef Darek believes more in food being an art rather than a solution to feeding hungry guests. By combining these two goals into one, Chef Darek has created food that will not only taste amazing but won’t leave you hungry. In fact, his food is supposed to stimulate all five senses.
What’s on the New Menu?
You can now enjoy the Fried Oyster BLT Salad made with farm stand romaine, tomato vinaigrette and bacon confit. It also features Crawded Cronuts with white truffle honey that is topped with salmon roe, inspirted by his trip to Café Du Monde in a New Orleans visit.
A new favorite is going to be the Pork Belly Lollipops. They really look like lollipops with melty fat and fork tender meat served with a stick.
For another salad option, you’ll want to try the Wood Grilled Chicken Panzanella Salad as well. It has argula, grits croutons, roasted tomatoes, lemon saffron vinaigrette plus a Mussel variation topped with crispy lotus root chips.
You have to try the Southern Nibbles, a sweet and tart trio featuring collard green pimento cheese stuffed peppers, cucumber edamame hummus and a tomato jam to spread on blueberry focaccia.
Also try George’s Famous Fries topped with pulled pork, wasabi ginger sesame drizzle and Asian pear relish. The Alys Burger now features collard green and blue pimento cheese, bacon and fried picked okra. For desert, the Smoked Pineapple Cornbread Cake with berry salsa and coconut gelato has been added to the menu.
Table for Two Tuesdays
Don’t miss Table for Two Tuesdays in which Chef Darek will feature a new menu every week based on what’s fresh at the farm. Tuesdays will feature a date night menu with a shared appetizer, salad and entrée per person plus dessert and a bottle of wine.
