The Panama City Music Association is a volunteer organization in Panama City that brings opera, musical theatre, and classical and modern dance to as much of the community as possible. Their goal is to expand the musical experience to the area and to increase youth participation in the arts.
This non-profit organization runs on donations, sponsors and memberships to bring shows to audiences. Members can then enjoy performances of music and theatre. Here is a look at the upcoming shows that you can enjoy as a member of the Panama City Music Association for the 2015 season.
Centennial Sinatra, a Swinging Tribute
This January members can enjoy the musical celebration of pop singer legend Frank Sinatra. The show takes place on January 17th from 7:30pm-10pm, check out Steve Lippia celebrating the 100th birthday of the singer and taking the audience back in time to enjoy the styling’s of Harry James, Tommy Dorsey, Billy May and Don Costa. He’ll even touch on his works with the Count Basie Orchestra in Vegas and well-known concert at Madison Square Garden. There’s going to be a 10 piece swing band joining Lippia.
Women of Ireland – Irish River Dance, Celtic and Irish Songs
On February 28th, check out the Women of Ireland performing Irish River Dance, Celtic and Irish Songs. The event starts at 7:30pm-10pm and will offer an exciting concert of female performers. You’ll love the fast-paced song and dance of Ireland including Irish step dancers, two bands and a fiddler.
Moscow City Ballet’s Performance of “Cinderella”
Finally, don’t miss the ballet this March 8th. From 4-6:30pm, you can watch the Moscow City Ballet perform with 42 of their dancers their stunning take on Cinderella. They have done international tours and are known for being a top ballet company in Russia featured at the Olympics. You’ll love their amazing choreography.
